Granta Architects in 2017

Posted in Announcements, and Life and Work

It was a busy year for Granta Architects in and out of the office, with new projects, new colleagues at Granta Incubator, new babies and new boats.

As 2018 begins, we continue to provide on-going support to Grade-I and Grade-II listed restoration projects in Cambridgeshire. We are also working on residential projects in Cambridge, Bourn, and Kirtling.

In the last twelve months, we have worked on a project to ‘upcycle’ a disused agricultural building; helped a client with mobility issues to remain as independent as possible; and have found sustainable solutions for a former workshop space in north Cambridge.

The practice was also able to undertake a bit of pro-bono work with Cambridge Sustainable Food (CSF). Our director, Katie Thornburrow, has since become a committee member of the organisation, and is looking forward to taking on more responsibility in 2018. As a practice and as individuals, we have a longstanding commitment to sustainability as a first principle, and were pleased to contribute to an organisation that aligns so closely with our personal passions.
