The property at Grantchester Meadows is a Victorian terraced house in a conservation area. The challenge was to design an extension to the home that was both fit for purpose and sensitive to the setting.
Working with CH&W Design, Katie Thornburrow designed a new kitchen, loft conversion and back garden with shed. The final design was a series of targeted improvements that were small in scale but made the house much more liveable and future-proof. The design also focused on a more seamless relationship between indoor and outdoor space, allowing the homeowners to make the most of their back garden and incorporating a new, custom-built shed into the design of the back garden.
