Riddy Lane, Bourn is a Grade-II listed cottage with a 1980s extension. The homeowners were interested in expanding the home to make it suitable for their retirement. By adding a ground-floor study/bedroom and a first-floor bedroom, the design made the home more flexible. In thinking about their long-term needs, the clients wanted a home they could stay in with limited mobility and a home that would allow for reunions and visits from extended family. The two new rooms allowed for both.
A new garage (where previously there had only been a parking pad) created storage space, replicating the house’s historic outbuildings and matching the outbuildings on nearby properties.
